Villagers in Foundation live in Houses. Rather than placing and building these directly, players paint a Residential zone in the area they wish houses to be built, and Villagers will automatically place housing foundations within this zone. A house is a residential building in Foundation. Homes cannot be directly placed. Rather, the foundations are procedurally placed within a residential zone that has adequate space as the need arises.
Description
Homes are required by villagers once they have reached the rank of serf. Initially, homes built have a capacity of 2 occupants, however, if housing densification is allowed, they can be upgraded.
As villagers are promoted beyond serfs, their housing needs will change, requiring higher quality homes than the ones they already live in. If home upgrades are disallowed, they will not be able to improve their homes, which can help with resource management if other buildings are already in construction.
Construction Requirements
*Low Quality houses have no requirements.
*Medium quality houses require a desirable neighbourhood, beautification area, and at least one commoner resident.
*High quality housing requires a paved road and at least one citizen resident.
