[[ | Military Missions become available after constructing a Keep. Players can send Companies out on Missions, and if the Mission is successful the Company will return with loot in the form of or Resources. The Combatants will return to the village several times during a Mission to rest and refill their Needs, bringing some loot each time.
Missions are divided into Grades marked by the number of . Higher grade Missions will be unlocked after a Mission of the previous grade has been successfully completed. The "Strategic Patrol" Mission is the first Mission, and must be completed before any other Missions are unlocked.
Some Missions can only be assigned to a specific combination of Companies, indicated by the outlines of the Company shields. For example, the Mission "Beast Begone" requires a Spear Company. The Castle Company, since it can be assigned any weapon type, can function as any Company type for the purpose of Missions.

=== Military Campaigns ===
Military Campaigns are related to Missions, but are assigned by the King as a result of a Royal Courtier mandate after other Keep-related quests have been completed. Campaigns differ from Missions in that there are several stages in a Campaign, and at the end of each stage the player has the option of recalling their Companies or ordering them to fight on. Completing an entire Military Campaign is one of the requirements of the Kingdom Aspiration. Military Campaigns are also the only type of Mission from which players can win and tier 3 Weapons (, , ).

Quests in Foundation are a means of expanding the village. Early game quests focus on the establishment of the village, whereas later quests are oriented around resources and obtaining Influence.
Advice Quests
Advice quests guide the player through Foundation's gameplay loop. These quests function as a loose tutorial or guide to the game
All Advice quests are optional. The player may decline a quest by selecting the option, "I will continue on my own."

Monk and Envoy Quests
Both monk and envoy quests are focused on growth, for a quantity of a specific resource, gold and splendor tokens will be given in return. Regardless of if it is a monk or envoy, each quest offered will allow the choice of completion for kingdom, clergy, or labor, granting tokens for the respective group selected.
Military
Military Missions become available after constructing a Keep. Players can send Companies out on Missions, and if the Mission is successful the Company will return with loot in the form of
Kingdom Influence or Resources. The Combatants will return to the village several times during a Mission to rest and refill their Needs, bringing some loot each time.
Missions are divided into Grades marked by the number of
Fleur de Lis.

Military Campaigns
Military Campaigns are related to Missions, but are assigned by the King as a result of a Royal Courtier mandate after other Keep-related quests have been completed. Campaigns differ from Missions in that there are several stages in a Campaign, and at the end of each stage the player has the option of recalling their Companies or ordering them to fight on. Completing an entire Military Campaign is one of the requirements of the Kingdom Aspiration. Military Campaigns are also the only type of Mission from which players can win
Steel and tier 3 Weapons (
Longbow,
Longsword,
Pike).
